A sedentary life, lack of mobility, tech neck and sitting at a desk is just as detrimental to your body as heavy lifting, physically strenuous work or sports. Tensions can come from deep inside… It all wreaks havoc on the spine and joints and causes pain.
As the posture deteriorates, joints become restricted and the difference between tense and weak muscles creates stress. These imbalances, stiffness, and loss of motion lead to overcompensation and pain signals throughout the body.
What is IPATH®?
IPATH® stands for Integral Postural Alignment Therapeutics. It is a method designed for anyone with body/back issues and/or suffering from body/back pain.
IPATH® is a specific sequence of asanas (yoga poses) which allow deep muscle memory to revert back to natural good posture and healthy alignment while also restoring mobility and length. IPATH® Restorative Yoga mindfully helps relieve and eliminate conditions, such as…
– lower back pain – herniated/bulging disc
– arthritis – fibromyalgia
– scoliosis – frozen shoulder
– slouching – joint pain
– sciatica – lack of flexibility
– stenosis – general stiffness…
How does it work?
- We begin with passive myofascial (muscle and connective tissue) release, a reclining relaxing practice which allows your body to release the accumulated tension and trauma that has locked you into misalignment, slouching, or painful posture.
- Once the layers of connective tissues have eased and stretched, we work on restorative spine lengthening and traction.
- Together with specific supine yoga poses, we use props like yoga blocks and IPATH® resistance balls.
- Based on our growing knowledge of of the human body, IPATH® integrates myofascial release, trigger point awareness (marmas), breathwork (pranayama), and alignment techniques to break down layers of accumulated bad habits, which eliminates pain to provide strategic muscle and skeletal length with enduring effects.
- Additionally, the IPATH® method incorporates if desired guided meditation which helps connect with your inner self and find balance during times of change and/or challenge.
- IPATH® is designed to work with all bodies, levels of mobility and fitness.
